Some people say that in order to be saved, you must keep a lot of rules, or do good things, or something that is difficult for you to do. Believing that God has already done everything is hard for some to accept.

God says, For by grace you have been saved, and that not of yourselves; it is a gift of god, not of works, lest anyone should boast (Ephesians 2:8-9). Being saved is a gift from God because He loves you. It is not something that you can work to receive. Faith is believing that God will do what He says.

God promises in Romans 10:13, For whoever calls on the name of the Lord shall be saved. You can call on His name by telling God what it is you believe in your heart -- that God loved you and sent His Son, Jesus Christ, to die on the cross and take the punishment for your sins. Then Jesus came back to life, showing that the giving of His blood was accepted by God as payment for your sins (Romans 10:9-10).
